Southeast Asia
Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand: halal-conscious markets with short transit.
Short sailing times from Chinese ports make this the easiest first export after the Gulf, but the halal paperwork is stricter than buyers expect: Indonesia now requires BPJPH certification and Malaysia follows JAKIM.
What your market requires
- Indonesia: food products require BPJPH halal certification (mandatory, phased by product category); import licence and SNI where applicable
- Malaysia: JAKIM halal certification is expected by most retail channels
- Singapore: SFA importer licence held by the buyer; English labels are standard
- Vietnam / Thailand: national label language requirements — Vietnamese or Thai panels are usually applied locally by the importer
- Tropical humidity: sealed cartons and desiccant where the consignment waits on the quay
Documents that ship with the goods
- Commercial invoice & packing list
- Certificate of origin (Form E for ASEAN where applicable)
- Health certificate
- China halal certificate + batch COA
Buyer questions for this market
Can you supply BPJPH or JAKIM certified goods?
Not today — our certification is China-issued. We will tell you plainly rather than let you plan a listing you cannot launch.
How fast can a first order reach Port Klang or Jakarta?
Transit is short (roughly a week to two weeks depending on port and schedule); the gate is production and documentation, which we confirm in the offer.
